Erin Hicks, DVM, CVAT
Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Erin Hicks, a native of Gig Harbor, discovered her calling as a child when her family veterinarian mended her cat’s fractured leg. Inspired by this moment, she felt compelled to serve animals as a veterinarian. Since graduating from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, she has cultivated a profound connection with cats and cat lovers alike.

“Cats are sadly misunderstood and overlooked by our society and sometimes even by the veterinary profession. They have unique needs and endearing quirks. I love honoring and caring for cats on their terms, in partnership with their families. There is no better reward than making a difference in someone’s life.”

Dr. Hicks has dedicated her career and continuing education to the well-being of cats. She holds certifications as a Veterinary Acupuncture Therapist, Cat-Friendly Veterinarian, and Fear-Free Veterinarian. While her love for all things feline knows no bounds, her professional interests encompass internal medicine, behavior, and acupuncture.

Her passion for cat welfare extends to local Trap-Neuter-Return initiatives and fostering kittens in her community through Feisty Felines Rescue. Dr. Hicks has also contributed her expertise to SOS Dubrovnik Cats in Croatia and served as a medical advisor for Ernesto’s Sanctuary for Cats in Syria.

Your Companion In Cat Care

Residing in Gig Harbor with her husband, Eric, and her son, Everett, Dr. Hicks shares her home with her beloved feline family: Jack Attack, Gandalf the Gray, Deet, and Bilbo. Outside of her veterinary work, her hobbies include gardening, birdwatching, hosting dinner parties, and geeking out at Comicon and the Renaissance Faire.
